70's Tiny Cabin in the Rainforest
(Lake Cushman area, Washington )
Cabin in the rainforest
Kitchen area
This cabin was built in the early 70's from a kit you would buy from a lumber yard. It was a simple week-end get away.
It is a livable space with plenty of room to stretch out in at 740 sq ft. The high beamed fir ceiling over the living room area has a cozy wood stove.
The kitchen/dining area has an old metal sink/cupboard with fir and beam ceiling.
Updates with oak cabinets were made in the 90's recycled from another home updating the original plywood cabinets.
The upstairs 2/3 loft is a roomy space with a queen size bed you can walk around, a dressing table, TV watching area with two comfy chairs, a sizeable deep closet and long bookcase.
The front porch was added at the turn of the millennium.
This is one of many similar kit made cabins that are a tradition in many parts of the country.
Listening to the rain on the metal room in the quiet of the rainforest is a luxury that has been long appreciated.
We are the fourth owners of this little hideaway.
