Michaels house truck "land yacht" 1948 International

by Michael Ostaski
(Tijeras, New Mexico)

This home took about 1solid year to originally build, since then it's been remodeled about 5 times! I lived in it for 18 years from Washington to San Diego, It was creatures in two books, Rolling Homes and Some turtles have nice shells. I recently built a home on a few acres in New Mexico but still have my house truck on the property. This has been an incredible way of life for me, as an artist it has allowed me to really experience a lifestyle that has been no less than amazing! I'm thinking of building another rolling home but this time a bit smaller and easier to roll in? I miss the lifestyle and with new tech out there would make being a gypsy easier than the old days. With cell phones, Wi Fi, solar etc. would be a great build. To see more get on you tube and look up incredible house truck by Michael Ostaski. Have fun and keep on trucking! A possibly big hit at the campground
by: Anonymous

This would make a statement at any campground or RV park pulled into and set up at. A really unique, self-contained mobile structure, with plenty of room for giving neighbors the "tour" and enough media to keep busy with on a rainy day.

I love it!
by: glorybe2

I like what you have created and it is a great way to live. If I owned your truck home I would be pulling a small trailer for my toys etc... Obviously you can fine the best places to set up and if you rent and they get greedy you can pull out in a flash. Love it.
Early today I tried to view the site and an Arab terror group had taken over and blocked my access. I'm in Florida.

My dream
by: Gayle lavender

Your home is my dream. Of course a senior and alone makes it impossible but keeps the dream alive. Thank you for sharing it. New Mexico is beautiful too. Grew up twenty miles south of Albuquerque. For someone like me keep the dream alive. And thank you

Great yacht!
by: Anonymous

Very nice! This was also built back before gas prices skyrocketed and I bet that house is a gas guzzler but a great way to live if you are not moving around too often.

Way back when
by: Dane P.

Hello, Michael...remember you and your amazing house truck from my Cottage Grove days. Used to be green? Always admired your construction skills. Glad to hear you still have it. Hope to build my own tiny house in about a year. Cheers.

Nice ceiling
by: Anonymous

I love the appearance of the ceiling. It combines the classic look of wood with a geometric pattern that looks both modern and out of a Gothic church at the same time.
