It is a traditional dwelling originally known to have been used by nomadic Mongolians more than 2,000 years ago.

That's a long time ago! And yes, people still use them today. But we'll talk more about modern uses later...

These structures are always round--sort of like a tee-pee, only bigger and sturdier.

You can buy modern yurts that come in ready to build kits. This way you have every part needed to put it together, with instructions. And as you learned with the video, there are plenty of features...

I think the video showed us how possible and comfortable living in a yurt can be.

If you're on a tight budget it can be an affordable place to live. As always, check your local laws.

Yurts are made to be disassembled and moved if needed.
